THE VISA PROJECT

How to get involved with VISA

THE CORE OF VISA - AN INTERACTIVE MAP

VISA (Vulture Initiative for sub-Saharan Africa) is essentially a basic GIS-based application that enables anyone to see at a glance what work is being done, and where, on vultures in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Vulture MsAP outlines a very wide range of stakeholders involved (actually or potentially) in vulture conservation - not just scientists/conservationists/NGOs.

All stakeholders - not only researchers - can add details of their work and projects (their metadata) to VISA. This includes past achievements, ongoing work and future goals.

The interactive map, which will be open access and available here, is currently in development; it needs metadata to work!

Coming soon.

DRIVEN BY

The basis of VISA's map is information.

Basic and uncomplicated information from all stakeholders involved in vulture conservation is what is needed and will be what drives the success of VISA.

Success for VISA will be a clear and accessible window to a connected and effective sub-Saharan conservation network for vultures. A multi-disciplinary network that uses VISA to highlight knowledge gaps, avoid duplication of effort and reach new goals through creative progress.

Be part of this future success by joining the VISA project.

Sign up today to receive the simple metadata protocol and then contribute your information to VISA.
